Elan Kids — Filmmaking & On-Camera Acting Classes for Kids | Airdrie & Calgary

☀️ SUMMER 2026 ENROLMENT IS OPEN · 6-day movie camps in Airdrie · Spots limited → Book Now

Where kids make real movies.

5-day filmmaking and on-camera acting camps for ages 6–12 — in Airdrie, Calgary, and the towns in between. Summer 2026 enrolment is open.

What we do

Filmmaking Crew

Kids learn to be the director, the cinematographer, and the editor — then make a real short film they can show their friends. Hands-on from day one.

On-Camera Acting

Get comfortable on camera, nail an audition, and find your voice. Whether they want to be the next big thing or just be braver in front of people — we’ve got them.

In-School Visits

We bring the kit, the cameras, and the energy to your school. Workshops, after-school clubs, and turn-key morning-announcement programs.

How it works

1

Pick your program

Filmmaking Crew (6- day summer camp) or On-Camera Acting (6-day intensive). Or both.

2

Make something real

Six days later, your child has written, shot, and edited their own short film — or has a self-tape audition reel they can actually use.

3

Premiere it

Saturday-afternoon family premiere with popcorn, a red carpet, and bragging rights.

Why Elan Kids

Run by working filmmakers

Elan Kids is the youth program of Elan Studios, an Airdrie/Calgary indie production company. Your child is taught by people who actually do this for a living.

Safe by design

small class sizes (max 8 kids per instructor), background-checked staff, and a no-phones-up policy on set.

Real outcomes

Every kid leaves with a film they made, an audition reel, or a portfolio piece. Not just a participation certificate.

Local

We’re from Airdrie. Most of our families are within a 30-minute drive.

What families are saying

“My daughter has been talking about her short film for three weeks straight. She edited it herself. She’s 8.”

PARENT

“I didn’t know my son could be quiet for two hours. Turns out he just needed a camera in his hands.”

PARENT

“I got the part! And then I made my own movie about getting the part!”

KID -AGE 9

"She came home on Day 1 and immediately started writing her next script at the kitchen table. We are so happy"
